Somers Speech and Language Therapy

Welcome to the Somers Speech and Language Therapy web site!

Somers Speech and Language Therapy provides community-based therapy and specializes in evaluating and treating speech and language delays and differences in children. Founded by Rachel Heese, MS, CCC-SLP, Somers Speech and Language Therapy was established to serve local families struggling with communication disorders.

Autism, apraxia, and speech delay are our specialtiesThe mission is to provide quality services to children using an individualized approach. Learning to be an effective communicator can be a challenge for some children, and may affect many areas of their lives. By fostering the development of speech and language skills, the goal is to help children reach their fullest potential. Personalized programs are developed to establish new communication skills, and the child’s family is included to successfully integrate the progress into their natural environments.

“The earlier a child’s speech and language problems are identified and treated, the less likely it is that problems will persist or get worse. Early speech and language intervention can help children be more successful with reading, writing, schoolwork, and interpersonal relationships.”
- The American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
